#2 Can I consider myself a good reader and writer?

Basically, the more you read the better writer you become. It is practice which can make one a good reader or writer. The more you will practice reading or writing, you would be able to get into it and improve your skills.

I am asked to evaluate myself as a reader and as a writer. Can I consider myself good at both? Yes, why not. I used to read academic books like literature. I also love reading some reading materials like magazines, newspapers and the like. But I always make time to read those required in school.

Before, I really find it tiresome when I read academic books. Nevertheless, I should have to read those as part of my assignment in school. So when I got used to it, I no longer find it uninteresting to do. Well, in fact, I read more and more. Reading is not just merely reading, of course. It shall be done with comprehension and the reader shall put interest onto the text he is reading. It is one way to easily absorb the in depth meaning of the text he is actually reading.

Writing is, indeed, the reciprocal of the reading. I may be good at reading. But when it comes to writing, my ability is not as good as with my ability in reading. When I make an essay, it really takes time for me to compose five hundred words writing. Therefore, I need to practice myself in writing. And it is associated with inspiration to make a wonderful composition.

#1 My Mission in Life

Being still at young age, there are many things that come in to my mind - having fun with my friends, bonding with my family, and making up my studies well. But I came to think, what are my priorities in life? What are the things I would want to experience in the future? What is really my mission as a student, as a daughter, and as a citizen of my own country? And with all these questions, how will I answer them and how will I get into there?

The best thing to make a step is to plan. Create a plan and put them into action. As a student, my very mission is to graduate and finish my studies. And, of course, it is coupled with making up my studies well. Doing well in the studies is the first step to start executing the plan made.  After studying, my next priority is how I will start up my career. Looking for a job is not that easy. Companies set qualifications to base to their applicants that the applicants should also possess. In my case, to be an alumnus of Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology is an advantage that I could bring out whenever I would find a job. MSU-IIT has this good image that may be carried proudly wherever I would like to go. Of course, I wont forget to thank my parents for all the things they’ve done for me. I will pay back all their expenses to me when I was still on their care.

After being a successful in my career and an experienced in doing fun things, I guess, it is now the time that I should think about having a family. My ideal age on getting married is at the age of twenty eight (28).  It is because, I guess, as soon as I reach that age, there will be no more thing I would want to experience more in my life. And so I will start entertaining suitors. J

One of the five (5) pillars of Islam is the pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It is the fifth pillar of Islam where once in a lifetime a Muslim is expected to make a religious journey to Mecca and Kaaba; for Muslim people, the hajj is the ultimate act of worship. As a Muslim woman, I am obliged to travel to Mecca to take this religious journey.

With all those accomplishments, there is nothing more I would want in my life. Education, stable family, religious obligations are essentials to me that I would want to have and experience in the future. Those are plans that I assume to happen on the following years of my life. And with the help of my family and friends, I would really try to make those things happen in real.

In order to be successful in life, you must do well in all aspects of life. Be strong and wise enough to the problems that may come in your way; be intelligent enough to answer all the confusions that you may encounter; be the most lovable and caring mother to your kids and be the most understanding wife to your husband; and lastly, be God-centered both in good and bad times so you can strengthen your faith to the Almighty.
